Welcome to our site!

North London Organic Gardeners are the local branch of Garden Organic, the national charity for organic growing. We are a group of people who believe in gardening without the use of chemical fertilisers and poisonous sprays. We make compost and believe that by looking after the soil and feeding it we can grow strong, healthy plants which are more resistant to pests and diseases.

About

Each year we hold a PLANT SALE in Winchmore Hill and we have a very faithful following there! Everyone supplies plants they have grown or cuttings they have taken. The result is a marvellous mix of herbs, vegetable plants, annual and perennial flowers, fruit bushes, small shrubs and trees and houseplants. Lots of advice is part of the event too. The proceeds keep us going for the whole year together with some relevant charitable contributions.

During the colder months we normally meet at on the first Thursday of the month in the small hall of Winchmore Hill Baptist Church. At these meetings we discuss our gardening plans, problems and successes and sometimes have visiting speakers. During the summer we often visit members’ gardens and make trips to local places of gardening and horticultural interest.
